Lemonade Stand With a Purpose
Lemonade stands are a rite of summer for children across the country. So many of us can remember a childhood that includes a card table at the end of the driveway with a stack of Dixie cups and a sign in magic marker trying to lure thirsty passers by to stop. For one Michiana resident this summer, the lemonade stand took a deeper meaning. Sophie C, a ten year old St. Joseph Grade School student used her lemonade stand to collect money to donate to St. Margaret’s House. Sophie had taken a tour of St. Margaret’s House with her 3rd grade class a few years ago, and was inspired by the good things that are done for women here. In turn, we are inspired by Sophie’s simple act of generosity.
