St. Margaret's House has been helping women and children since 1990.
Since we opened our doors in 1990, hundreds of women and children a year have come to St. Margaret's House. Some have come for a day to meet an immediate need for a hot, nutritious meal, to take a shower, to access our clothes closet or simply to make a phone call. Others have come longer to take part in a program—parenting, empowerment, health or Bridges Out of Poverty, for example. And still others have come for years because they find a supportive community which helps them battle the isolation that sometimes comes from stuggling as a single parent, coping with mental and physical health issues or surviving a history of sexual or physical abuse. Here they can lend a hand, meet new friends and experience the power of women helping women.
Each women who comes finds a community that encourages her to define herself by her gifts and talents rather than her struggles. She is given the support, the tools and sense of connection that helps her find courage and strength to move to a more positive place in her life.
We welcome you to this very special community and invite you whether you are a guest or a donor to share your gifts and talents with the women of St. Margaret's House. In Peace,
Kathryn A. Schneider, M. Div.
